Go into the FBX 2013 folder and import that. One of them will be FBX 2013 and nameofexportgoeshere.fbm After that 2 new folders will be made in the location where you got the blender. On the right side you should see a box and at the bottom it should have a check box that says "Embed Media." That's the only thing you have to change and then press convert. Open up Auto Desk FBX 2013, drag in the blender export to the left side box. To use FBX 2013 you export your Blender file like you would normally do. Then after that, you import it into Unity and you should be able to edit the main material. You should use a program like Autodesk FBX Converter to pack the materials in with the export. When you made the mesh in blender did you UV map it and put a texture on it? If so, just importing it into Unity won't make it have its texture/material.
